Roguelike survivor where enemies split. Kill them fast or they multiply.
Split Hoppers is built around one mechanic: every enemy has a split timer. Let it run out and they fracture into 2-10 smaller and faster copies. Those can split again. Your job is to kill things before they multiply, but you can't always keep up.
The Split Mechanic
Killing fast prevents splits. Let enemies live too long and they fracture where they stand, flooding the area with smaller and harder-to-hit children. Positioning matters. Some builds prevent splitting entirely, others lean into the chaos and scale damage off enemy count. Four build archetypes: Containment, Predator, Culling and Swarm Surge.
6 Characters
Each with 3 unlockable passives:
- Hyrax - balanced starter, shockwave on kill streaks
- Rat - glass cannon, plague dash infects enemies on contact
- Fish - tank, pressure aura slows nearby splits
- Beetle - burrow strikes that stun and deal heavy damage
- Goose - builds rage stacks into honk blasts
- Gecko Bros - drop turrets on dash that focus fire targets
12 Weapons + Mutations
Auto-firing weapons level up throughout a run and can mutate with unique modifiers. Four additional boss-exclusive weapons are obtainable from campaign mode.
11 Enemy Types
- Bombers explode on death (and their split children explode too)
- Leapers teleport behind you
- Frogs pull you in with their tongue
- Tanks are slow but split into a crowd
- ...and more
5 Biomes
Meadow, Desert, Swamp, Volcanic and Frozen zones cycle every 5 waves with weather effects and environmental hazards.
Closure Mechanics
The playable area shrinks as runs progress. Each run picks one at random:
- Closing storm
- Rising flood
- Laser walls
- Grid collapse
- ...and more
Campaign Mode
3 Fracture Points, 12 zones and boss fights that drop unique weapons and artifacts.
Hopper Collection
Encounter wild hoppers mid-run, battle them turn-based and catch them with a timing mini-game. 12 species with type effectiveness, natures and a merge system.
Daily Challenges
Seeded runs so everyone gets the same layout. Plus 12 achievements to chase.
Plays in browser (download for desktop coming soon). Runs at 60 FPS.
